The Dolphin E10 cleans the floor of above-ground pools up to 30 feet long with a powered brush, in a short cycle of 1.5 hours. It leaves the walls and waterline to you, and there is no timer or app. On the plus side, it is light at 14.6 pounds and comes with a 2-year warranty.
Who It's For
The E10 suits a small above-ground pool, no longer than 30 feet, with a vinyl floor where most of the dirt settles. You want a short, simple cycle that you start yourself, and a light corded robot that you can lift over the pool wall without much effort. Brushing the walls by hand now and then does not bother you.
Look Elsewhere If
You may want a different robot if your walls need cleaning too, because the E10 is a floor cleaner. Dolphin's global page says it reaches the angle where the floor meets the wall, but the walls and the waterline stay with your brush. It is also limited to above-ground pools, and it has no timer, so it cannot clean while you are away. There is no full-filter indicator either, so you check the basket yourself after each cycle.
Where To Buy
Key Features
Floor Cleaning. The question for a floor-only robot is a simple one: does most of your dirt settle on the floor, and is that floor flat? In many above-ground pools, both are true, and that is where the E10 is aimed. Dolphin lists the floor as its only cleaning zone, and steps and slopes are not on its list, so if your pool has a ramp or a sloped floor, check with Dolphin before you buy.
Brush And Suction. Within those limits, the E10's specifications are a good match for a small pool. One standard brush, which Dolphin marks as active, does the scrubbing, so it is powered rather than just following the robot. Suction is rated at 4,000 gallons per hour, the same figure as the larger Nautilus CC. The cycle is short, at 1.5 hours, which suits a smaller floor area.
Starting A Cycle. There is no app, no timer and no remote. You switch the E10 on at the power supply, it runs one cycle, and then it stops. That keeps it simple to use, but it also means the pool only gets cleaned when you are there to start it. Dolphin says the E10 finds its way around with its CleverClean navigation, but it does not describe the pattern it follows.
Filter Access. The fine filter basket comes out through the lid and unsnaps at the bottom to empty, so the robot stays the right way up. Dolphin gives no micron figure for it, and the manual lists a net canister as another filter option. According to the manual, the handle lifts on its own when you open the filter cover, and then you lift the basket out.
Weight And Pool Shapes. At 14.6 pounds, the E10 is light for a corded Dolphin, which helps when you lift it over an above-ground wall at the end of a cycle. Dolphin names rectangular, round, free-form and kidney shapes, all above-ground.

How It Compares
Dolphin Nautilus CC Check Price on Amazon
Dolphin Nautilus CC adds the walls and is rated for both inground and above-ground pools up to 33 feet. It weighs 14.8 pounds, almost the same as the E10, and it also relies on a powered brush with no timer. Its warranty is shorter, at 1 year. If your walls collect algae or dirt, it does the job the E10 leaves to you.
Dolphin Escape Check Price on Amazon
Dolphin Escape is a floor-only Dolphin too, with the same 30-foot rating and 1.5-hour cycle. Maytronics lists it for inground pools as well as above-ground ones, it weighs 14.2 pounds, and it comes with a 40-foot cable. It sits a tier up, in Premium. Pick it if you might move to an inground pool later, since the E10 cannot follow you there.
Pentair Prowler 910 Check Price on Amazon
Pentair Prowler 910 is the closest match from another brand, in the same Mid Tier. It is also a corded floor cleaner for above-ground pools, with a powered brush, a top-loading filter and a 1.5-hour cycle that you start yourself. Its suction is rated a little higher, at 4,490 gallons per hour, and Pentair lists a 40-foot cable, a figure Dolphin's US page does not give for the E10. The trade-off is weight. At 24 pounds, it is a much heavier lift over the pool wall, so choose it only if the known cable length matters more to you than an easy lift.
Worth Knowing
There is no swivel on the cable, and Dolphin does not list the cable length for the US model, so check that it will reach the far side of the pool from your outlet. Dolphin's global spec sheet gives a shorter length rating than the US page, and this page uses the US figure of 30 feet. If you are between the two, measure your pool before you buy. If the floating cable develops kinks, Dolphin's manual suggests stretching it out fully and leaving it in the sun for at least a day to straighten it.
Care And Maintenance
From the Dolphin manual:
- Switch off and unplug the power supply before you handle the robot.
- Bring it to the edge with the floating cable, then lift it by the handle and let it drain, never pulling it out by the cable.
- Clean the filter basket after every cycle, without letting it dry out first.
- Once a month, if your basket has ultra-fine panels, take them off and hose them separately.
- Before winter, drain the robot, clean the filters and roll the cable up without kinks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the E10 go in an inground pool?
No. Dolphin names above-ground pools only. If you have an inground pool, the Escape and the Nautilus CC are rated for both types.
Does it climb walls?
No. It cleans the floor, reaching the angle where the floor meets the wall, and it leaves the walls themselves to you.
How long does it run?
One cycle of 1.5 hours, and then it stops until you switch it on again at the power supply.
Can it be put on a schedule?
No. There is no timer, app or remote, so every cycle starts by hand.
Is it safe on a vinyl liner?
It should be. Dolphin designs the E10 for above-ground pools, which usually have vinyl liners, although its pages do not mention liners by name.
How much does the E10 weigh?
It weighs 14.6 pounds, which is light for a corded Dolphin and helps when you lift it over the pool wall.
What is the warranty?
Two years, according to Dolphin's US page. That is twice as long as the Nautilus CC's warranty.
Where should the power supply go?
Roughly halfway along the long side of the pool, according to Dolphin's manual, out of standing water and plugged into an outlet protected by a ground fault interrupter. The manual lists a badly placed power supply as one reason a robot cleans only part of the pool.
