The Wybot C2 adds a second filter to what the Wybot C1 offers, a 10-micron net paired with the 180-micron basket. It also adds two cleaning modes and runs for up to 3 hours per charge. Like the C1, it cleans the floor, walls, waterline and steps of pools up to 1,615 square feet.

Who It's For

Two kinds of owner tend to weigh the C2 against the C1. One mainly deals with leaves and sand, and the C1 already covers that. The other also sees fine dust settle on the floor, and that owner gets more from the C2's extra net and turbo floor mode. Either way, it suits a pool of up to 1,615 square feet, inground or above-ground.

Look Elsewhere If

You may want a different robot if fine silt is a daily problem and you want a full-time fine filter. Wybot recommends the 10-micron net for turbo floor mode only, and it suggests leaving the net out when the floor is heavily soiled. A pool larger than the manual's rating of 1,615 square feet also points to a bigger robot. And because the app only connects while the robot is out of the water, you cannot change modes mid-clean.

Key Features

Two Filter Stages. The C1 has one filter, a 180-micron cartridge. The C2 keeps that basket and adds a 10-micron auxiliary net, which traps much finer particles, such as fine dust. Wybot recommends the net for turbo floor mode only and says to leave it out when the floor is heavily soiled, so think of it as a tool for dusty days rather than a permanent layer.

Cleaning Modes. Where the C1 offers five cleaning modes, the C2 has seven: full pool, floor only, wall only, waterline only, wall then floor, turbo floor and eco floor. You choose the mode in the app before the robot goes in, because the app cannot connect once it is underwater. For a pool that is extra dirty, the app also offers an Extra-dirty Pool function, and it installs firmware updates for the robot.

Battery And Charging. The battery holds 4,600 mAh, the same capacity as the C1's. Wybot quotes up to 3 hours in eco floor mode, half an hour more than the C1, and a full recharge takes 3 hours. At the end of a run, the robot parks by the wall so you can collect it with the pole hook. A light on top of the robot turns solid green when the battery is full and flashes yellow when it needs charging.

Steps And Suction. Wybot lists steps and slopes among the areas the C2 cleans, and the manual says it can climb steps and drains. It moves on tracks for grip. Suction is rated at 3,592 gallons per hour, which is higher than the C1's rating.

Brushes And Weight. The manual shows a scrubbing brush but does not describe it as powered. At 17.6 pounds, the C2 weighs the same as the C1, so the extra filter and modes add nothing to the lift out of the pool.

How It Compares

Wybot C1 Check Price at Wybot

Wybot C1 is the simpler sibling, with one 180-micron cartridge, five modes and up to 2.5 hours per charge. It shares the C2's 17.6-pound body and, in its manual, the same rating of 1,615 square feet, one tier down in Mid Tier. If leaves and sand are your main debris, it covers the same zones, steps included.

Wybot C2 Vision Check Price at Wybot

Wybot C2 Vision adds an AI camera and an AI Vision cleaning mode for the floor, for eight modes and seven paths in Wybot's comparison table. The same table gives it the same charging time and weight as the C2. Consider it if a camera that looks for debris on the floor appeals to you.

Aiper Scuba S1 Check Price at Aiper

Aiper Scuba S1 matches the 3-hour runtime and goes finer still, with a 3-micron filter and a powered roller. It does not list steps, though, and its rating is 1,600 square feet. Choose it if fine debris matters more to you than clean steps.

Worth Knowing

Wybot's product page rates the C2 for a larger pool than its manual does, so this page uses the manual's figure of 1,615 square feet. If your pool falls between the two, the manual's number is the safer guide. The manual also says slippery tile, mosaic or acrylic surfaces may need some modification. The box includes a hook, a power adapter and floating parts, but no caddy. The C2 collects debris but does not treat the water, so you still need your pool's own filtration and chemicals. The manual asks you not to run the robot while the pool filter is running, though. Wybot adds that very dirty water, or water with a lot of suspended particles, can affect how well it cleans.

Care And Maintenance

From the Wybot manual:

  1. Power it off before any maintenance, and before you take it out of the pool.
  2. Lift it out upright so the water inside drains quickly.
  3. Wash the filter basket and the ultra-fine net after every use. To reach them, push the lid button up, lift the cover and take both out.
  4. Keep the charging port dry, and charge well away from the pool edge on a GFCI outlet.
  5. For winter, dry the robot and its filter drawer, charge it fully, and top it up every three months.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the C2 different from the C1?

It adds a 10-micron fine net, two more cleaning modes and up to 3 hours per charge. It also has more suction and sits one tier higher, in Premium.

Does the C2 clean steps?

Yes. Wybot lists steps and slopes, and the manual says it can climb steps and drains.

Should I use the fine filter all the time?

No. Wybot recommends the fine net for turbo floor mode only, and not when the floor is heavily soiled.

Does the C2 suit above-ground pools?

Yes. Wybot's page lists above-ground and inground pools, and vinyl is among the surfaces it works on.

Can I schedule it?

Yes. The Wybot app lets you schedule up to four cleanings a week, set while the robot is out of the water.

What comes in the box?

The robot, a power adapter, a hook, floating parts, the basket and the fine filter. There is no caddy. The manual has you attach the hook to a pool pole, and neither packing list includes one.

What happens when the battery runs low?

It parks itself. When the battery runs low or a cycle ends, the C2 moves to the edge of the pool wall and stops there, so you can lift it out with the hook on a pool pole.

How long is the warranty?

Two years, according to Wybot's US page.
