The Wybot S2 Solar Vision cleans the floor, walls and waterline, with a camera that recognizes debris during floor cleaning. Its solar charging dock lets it recharge in the pool. The manual says it returns after finishing a clean or when its battery runs low.

Who It's For

It suits an inground pool where you want scheduled cleaning and a dock that reduces trips to a separate charger. Rectangular, round and freeform layouts are compatible, including pools with sloped floors. Supported finishes include vinyl, gunite and tile. If dirt settles across an irregular floor, the camera's debris recognition is a reason to choose this version. It supports hard and soft walls.

Look Elsewhere If

You may want a different robot if your pool is larger than 3,229 square feet. Its brushes are passive, so it will not suit you if powered brushing is a requirement. Wybot says it does not manage water quality or perform ultra-fine filtration. It has no surface-cleaning mode, so floating leaves need another method of removal. AI Visual Cleaning is limited to the floor, so the camera does not guide wall cleaning.

Key Features

Camera And Navigation. The manual describes a front-facing camera that identifies debris ahead during AI Visual Cleaning. It adjusts its speed and cleaning behavior around the dirt it recognizes. Recognition develops with regular use. Wybot recommends keeping the software updated as the robot continues learning debris patterns and pool environments.

Battery And Charging. Runtime reaches 2.5 hours from a 5,200 mAh battery. The manual specifies 3 hours for DC charging, with solid green lights on the cleaner showing a full charge. You can use the solar dock or charge the robot directly with the adapter. The dock uses inductive charging underwater, and the solar kit's home button calls the cleaner back.

Cleaning Modes. Floor, wall and waterline modes let you direct cleaning to the areas that need it. The manual also describes a combined mode that cleans walls before the floor, plus Eco and Turbo floor settings. Some modes must first be selected through the app. After restarting, the robot returns to the cleaning mode you last selected.

Scheduling And Remote Control. Wybot offers weekly scheduling through the app, including scheduled AI Vision cleaning. You must enable AI Vision in the mode interface before scheduling it. App remote control also lets you start spot-area cleaning. You can also start a clean with the start/stop button on the docking station.

Filters And Suction. The main basket is rated at 180 microns, and the robot has a flow rate of 3,962 gph. A removable cotton foam filter supplements the basket for fine particles. The manual recommends the foam for floor cleaning and advises removing it if wall climbing suffers. Both filters sit beneath the top cover, so you can reach them without turning the cleaner over.

How It Compares

Wybot S2 Solar Check Price at Wybotics Inc

Wybot S2 Solar follows patterned paths, while the Vision adds a camera and advanced mapping that can respond to debris when AI Visual Cleaning is enabled. Choose it if you want patterned cleaning and have no need for the camera's debris recognition or the changes in speed and cleaning behavior it supports on the floor.

Wybot S2 Get the deal at Wybot

Wybot S2 offers up to 3.5 hours of cleaning in a cordless sibling with the same coverage and weight, and uses patterned paths in place of the Vision's advanced mapping. Choose it if longer cleaning sessions matter more than the Vision's solar dock charging, and you are happy to take the robot out and connect it to a charger between runs.

Beatbot AquaSense 2 Check Price on Amazon

Beatbot AquaSense 2 pairs active brushes with up to 4 hours of runtime and also has advanced mapping and app scheduling, so it suits an owner who wants powered brushing and longer sessions. Choose it if those cleaning differences matter more than the Vision's dock, and you can handle its weight of 23.1 pounds when removing it from the water.

Worth Knowing

The manual calls for a flat deck location without nearby steps or ladders. If your pool surface is vinyl, the wall where the dock attaches must be flat and undamaged. The space below it must be clear of steps, seats and lights. In a freeform pool, an open position overlooking the water helps the signal. Solar charging works most effectively in direct sunlight without clouds or shade. Wybot recommends adapter charging for heavily soiled pools when frequent cleaning demands more energy than the solar dock can supply.

Care And Maintenance

From the Wybot manual:

  1. Disconnect the power before maintenance. Lift the cleaner by its handle and switch it off before opening the top cover.
  2. Press the filter cover handle, lift the lid and remove the basket and foam filter.
  3. Empty the debris after each use. Rinse both filters with clean water, refit them and close the cover.
  4. Keep the camera lens clean and protect it from scratches. Before storage, dry the cleaner and fully charge its battery.
  5. Store it somewhere cool and ventilated, away from sunlight, heat and frost. Keep pressure off the solar kit. Charge it every three months during storage.

Frequently Asked Questions

How large a pool can it clean?

Up to 3,229 square feet. Rectangular, round and freeform inground pools are compatible, so curved walls do not rule it out.

Can it clean steps?

Yes. Wybot names steps among its cleaning areas. The manual says steps and shallow areas may change its cleaning route as it climbs through them.

Does it work in saltwater?

Yes. Saltwater and chlorine pools are compatible. The manual gives upper limits for chlorine and salt concentrations during use.

How much does it weigh?

18.7 pounds. That figure covers the cleaner alone. The solar kit sits on the deck, with its station attached inside the pool.

Can I control it underwater?

Yes. The manual says the app supports remote control during cleaning. Pair it while the robot is charging on its dock before using underwater control.

What warranty does it have?

Two years, according to Wybot. For a warranty claim or repair, the manual requires an order record and limits coverage to the original buyer.

Does the camera need setup?

Yes. The manual says to remove its protective film before use. The camera activates underwater after you enable AI Visual Cleaning in the app.

Can it run with the pool filter on?

No. The manual says to stop the pool filter during operation. Wybot recommends running circulation and filtration first if suspended particles have made the water extremely dirty.
