Black Friday falls on Friday, November 27 this year, and Cyber Monday follows on November 30. Many pool robot makers mark down their cleaners around those days, and a large number on a banner can make almost any robot look like the right one. Before you buy, it helps to check three things. Is the sale amount really lower than what the store usually charges? Do the store’s return window and the warranty still work for a robot that may sit in its box until spring? And is the robot suited to an above-ground pool at all? A deal on a robot that does not fit your pool is no saving, however good the banner looks.
An above-ground pool also asks different things of a robot than an inground pool does. The robot comes out over the pool wall, so its weight matters more. The walls are often vinyl, and many above-ground pools are small enough that a very long runtime or a very large rated area adds little. Most robots that climb the walls are inground models whose makers also rate them for above-ground pools, so read what the maker says about your type of pool before you buy one of those.
Every robot in this post, in the picks and in the table, comes from Aiper and Wybot, two of the brands whose own stores the deals block follows. The picks below start with the one robot in the table made mainly for above-ground pools, then move from the lighter wall climbers to the heavier ones.
How to Judge a Pool Robot Deal
The Brand’s Own Store. A “was” figure on a sale banner is not always what the store charges the rest of the year. The more useful comparison is between the sale amount and what that same store usually charges for the same robot, so look at the brand’s own store and, if you can, note the regular amount in the weeks before the sale. Check that the listing describes the same model and edition, too. The deals block in this post works the same way. It shows a robot only when its brand’s own store sells it below its regular amount, and it checks once a day. It covers the brand stores it follows, so a pick can be missing from it on a given day simply because its store has no deal running.
The Season. Where pools close for the winter, a robot bought in late November may wait in its box until the pool opens again. A return window that ends after the holidays will have passed long before the robot first goes in the water, and a warranty that starts on the day you buy loses some months before you use it. Read the store’s return terms and the maker’s warranty before you buy. If you can, open the box and check the parts while the return window is still open.
The Specs That Decide the Fit. Start with what the robot cleans: the floor only, or the walls and waterline as well. Then compare its rated pool area or length with your pool, and its runtime per charge with how long your pool takes to clean. Decide whether you would rather charge a battery or lay out a cable. Last, look at the weight, since you will lift the robot out over the pool wall, often while it is still draining. The deals block lists deals on every robot rated for above-ground pools, and that includes wall-climbing robots made mainly for inground pools, so check what the maker says about above-ground pools before you buy one of those.
The block below lists today’s deals on robots rated for above-ground pools from the brands’ own stores, and it refreshes every day.

How the Tiers Differ for Above-Ground Pools
Robots fall into four tiers: the Budget tier (up to $200), the Mid Tier ($200 to $500), the Premium tier ($500 to $1,000) and the Pro tier (over $1,000).
The table holds 14 robots rated for above-ground pools, and none of them sits in the Budget tier. Two are in the Mid Tier, and they show the range well. Aiper Seagull SE is a light, floor-only robot made for above-ground pools, while Wybot C1 climbs the walls and cleans the waterline with app scheduling.
Eight robots sit in the Premium tier, where you tend to find a fine filter alongside the main basket, mapping or camera navigation, and in the Aiper models, powered brushes. The remaining four sit in the Pro tier, where the rated areas grow larger and Aiper Scuba V3 Ultra adds surface skimming. For most above-ground pools, the Mid Tier and Premium tier already cover the pool’s size, so a Pro tier robot makes sense mainly when you want a specific extra.
Made for Above-Ground Pools
Aiper Seagull SE is the one robot in the table that its maker sells mainly for above-ground pools, and its design follows from that. It weighs 7.6 pounds, so lifting it over the pool wall is a light job, and you start it with a power button rather than an app. Aiper rates it for 850 square feet or a pool up to 33 feet long. It cleans the floor on wheels, and when a run ends it parks near a wall so you can reach it.
Aiper Seagull SE has limits that come with its simple design. A charge lasts up to 1.5 hours, and a recharge takes 2.5 hours. It cleans the floor only, and Aiper lists round and rectangular layouts but not freeform ones. The filter is reached through the chassis rather than a top lid. If your pool is round or rectangular and dirt collects mainly on the floor, it covers that job, though the walls and waterline will still need brushing by hand.
A Light Wall Climber With a Camera
Wybot C2 Vision weighs 17.6 pounds and cleans the floor, walls and waterline, and Wybot lists steps as well. Its manual rates it for inground pools up to 1,938 square feet, and Wybot also lists above-ground pools and vinyl walls. Its camera mode responds to debris on the floor, and a 10-micron fine filter sits alongside the 180-micron basket. App scheduling sets future cleans, and a charge lasts up to 3 hours.
Its brushes are not listed as powered, and Wybot sells it first for inground pools, so read its notes on above-ground pools before you buy.

The Simpler Wybot Wall Climber
Wybot C1 is the wall climber in the Mid Tier. It weighs the same 17.6 pounds as Wybot C2 Vision and cleans the floor, walls, waterline and steps of pools up to 1,615 square feet. A charge lasts up to 2.5 hours, and app scheduling is included.
The limit of Wybot C1 is its filter, a single 180-micron basket meant for leaves and sand rather than fine dust. If your pool mostly collects leaves and grit and you want the walls cleaned too, it could be a sensible choice.
A Second Filter for Fine Dust
Wybot C2 adds a 10-micron net to the 180-micron basket that Wybot C1 relies on, so it can catch much finer dust. It also adds two cleaning modes and runs for up to 3 hours per charge. The body weighs the same 17.6 pounds, and the rating stays at 1,615 square feet. It still cleans the floor, walls, waterline and steps, and it sits a tier up, in the Premium tier. If fine dust settles on your pool floor, the second filter is the main reason to choose it over its Mid Tier sibling.
Powered Brushes and an Easier Pickup
Aiper Scuba S3 weighs 18.0 pounds and brings powered brushes, which turn on their own rather than only riding along. Aiper rates it for 1,600 square feet or 50 feet in length, for the floor, walls and waterline. A 3-micron fine filter backs up the main basket, and mapping guides its route. Aiper also describes an app alert when the robot returns to the waterline, which could make lifting it out over the wall easier. A charge lasts up to 3 hours. Aiper does not list steps, and the robot is sold first for inground pools.
Vision Navigation and a Wireless Dock
Aiper Scuba V3 has a lot in common with Aiper Scuba S3. Both are rated for 1,600 square feet and run for up to 3 hours per charge, and both pair a 3-micron fine filter with powered brushes. It weighs 18.1 pounds. What sets it apart is AI vision navigation and automatic cleaning plans that Aiper says draw on the weather, the cleaning history and the pool’s size. It recharges on a wireless dock, though a full charge takes 5 hours. Aiper does not list steps for it.
The Longest Runtime Among the Picks
Wybot S2 runs for up to 3.5 hours per charge and carries a rating of 3,229 square feet. It weighs 18.7 pounds and cleans the floor, walls and waterline, and the manual says it can climb steps. The app offers seven cleaning modes and a cycle timer, and the robot parks itself by the wall when it finishes.
Few above-ground pools come near that rated area, so the runtime may matter more to you. The single 180-micron basket of Wybot S2 suits leaves and sand, and Wybot does not list it for microscopic debris.
Aiper’s Pro Tier Option for Larger Pools
Aiper Scuba S1 Pro is the first Pro tier robot in this list, and at 20.9 pounds it is heavier than the robots above it. Aiper rates it for 2,150 square feet or 66 feet in length. Active brushes and tracks scrub the floor and walls, and a 3-micron layer behind the main filter catches microscopic debris. Both filters come out from the top, and it runs for up to 3 hours per charge with app scheduling. It does not list steps, so it suits a large above-ground pool more than a small one.
More Suction in a Heavier Body
Aiper Scuba X1 shares the rating of Aiper Scuba S1 Pro, 2,150 square feet or 66 feet in length, but sits in the Premium tier. Its suction is rated at 6,600 gallons per hour, higher than its Pro tier relative’s. A fine filter of about 3 microns sits alongside the main basket, and you can choose a cleaning mode with its onboard button. The catch for an above-ground pool is weight. At 24.3 pounds, it is a real lift over the pool wall, especially before the water has drained out.
Surface Skimming as Well
Aiper Scuba V3 Ultra cleans the water surface as well as the floor, walls and waterline. Aiper rates it for pools up to 3,875 square feet, the largest rating in the table. Two cameras guide its route, a 3-micron fine filter backs up the main filter, and the app schedules its runs.
At 28.8 pounds, Aiper Scuba V3 Ultra is the heaviest pick, and it sits in the Pro tier. For most above-ground pools that is more robot than the pool needs. It makes the most sense if floating debris is a daily problem and you are comfortable lifting that weight over the wall.
Small Above-Ground Pools
If your pool is small and round or rectangular, Aiper Seagull SE has the smallest rating in the table, 850 square feet, and its short runtime matters less on a small floor. If you also want the walls cleaned, Wybot C1 is the Mid Tier wall climber, and the table’s tier filter shows both side by side.
Walls as Well as the Floor
Every robot in the table that climbs walls is an inground model whose maker also rates it for above-ground pools, while the one robot made mainly for above-ground pools cleans the floor only. Eleven robots in the table clean the floor, walls and waterline, and two more add the surface. The filter for what each robot cleans narrows the table to the ones you need.
Corded or Cordless
Every pick in this post is cordless, so there is no cable to run over the pool wall, but each one needs charging between cleans. Runtime per charge across the table ranges from 1.5 to 5 hours. The table’s power filter separates corded and cordless robots if you would rather not charge one.
Lifting the Robot Out
Weight is the spec an above-ground pool owner feels most often. Among the picks it runs from 7.6 pounds for Aiper Seagull SE to 28.8 pounds for Aiper Scuba V3 Ultra, and Wybot C1 sits between them at 17.6 pounds. A robot also carries water when it first comes out, so it may help to choose one that parks near the wall or rises to the waterline, as Wybot S2 and Aiper Scuba S3 do.
The table below lists every pool cleaner rated for above-ground pools, including the inground models whose makers also rate them for above-ground pools, with filters for main pool type, tier, power and what each one cleans.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Black Friday a good time to buy a pool robot?
It can be. Many brands mark down their robots around Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but a pool that is closed for the winter may not use the robot until spring. Check the return window and the warranty first, and compare the sale amount with what the brand’s own store usually charges.
How can I tell whether a deal is real?
Compare it with the same store. A “was” figure on a banner is not always the regular amount, so look at what the brand’s own store charges for that robot outside the sale, and check that the listing is for the same model and edition.
Why is a robot missing from the deals block?
Its store may have no deal that day. The block shows a robot only when its brand’s own store sells it below its regular amount, and it checks once a day, so robots appear and drop out as the stores change their offers.
Can a robot made for inground pools go in an above-ground pool?
Sometimes. All 14 robots in the table are rated for above-ground pools, but 13 of them are sold first for inground pools. Read what the maker says about above-ground pools and wall types before you buy one.
Do robots made for above-ground pools clean the walls?
Not the one in the table. The robot made mainly for above-ground pools cleans the floor only, so wall and waterline cleaning comes from inground models whose makers also rate them for above-ground pools.
