A sale day can make a good robot easier to buy, but it can also make a poor match look tempting. Before you buy an inground pool robot on Black Friday, check three things. The first is what your pool needs the robot to clean. The second is whether the pool fits within the robot’s rating. The third is whether the sale amount is really lower than what the store usually charges. A deal only saves you money if the robot suits your pool and the store would not have charged the same amount a week later.
Black Friday falls on Friday, November 27, this year, and Cyber Monday follows on November 30. Brand stores often run offers across those days, so the same robot may cost less on one day than on another. Checking more than once could make a difference.
Every robot in this post, the picks and the table alike, comes from Aiper or Wybot, and the deals block below follows those brands’ own stores. This post is a guide to those brands’ inground robots and not a ranking of every robot on the market.
The sections below explain how to judge a deal, how the tiers differ and which robots are worth watching. They also cover which robots suit pools with steps, larger pools and pools with fine debris.
How To Judge A Pool Robot Deal
Check The Brand’s Own Store
The brand’s own store is the most useful place to compare. Note what that store usually charges for the robot in the weeks before the sale, then set the sale amount against it. The “was” figure on a banner is not always the regular amount, so the store’s own history tells you more about the real saving. If you are watching a particular robot, check its page a week or two before Black Friday and again on the day.
The deals block in this post works the same way. It shows a robot only when its brand’s own store sells it below its regular amount, and it checks once a day. It covers only the brand stores it follows, so a pick from this post can be missing from it on a given day.
Think About The Season
Where pools close for the winter, a robot bought in late November may stay in its box until the pool opens again in spring. By then the store’s return window may have closed, and part of the warranty may have run. Read the return window and the warranty terms before you buy, including when the warranty starts. If you buy for a closed pool, you could unbox the robot, charge it and check that it powers on, so a fault shows up while you can still send it back. A pool that runs all year can put the robot to work at once.
Match The Specs To Your Pool
A deal on a robot that does not fit your pool is no saving. Check what the maker says the robot cleans: the floor, the walls, the waterline and, on some models, the water surface. Check whether it climbs steps, what pool area it is rated for, how long it runs per charge and what filters it uses. The rated area should cover your pool with some room to spare. If fine dust or pollen settles on your floor, a fine filter may matter more than extra suction.
The block below lists today’s deals on robots for inground pools from the brands’ own stores, and it refreshes every day.

How The Tiers Differ For Inground Pools
The table below holds 14 robots, and every one of them is rated for inground pools. Tiers group robots by what they usually cost. None falls in the Budget tier (up to $200). The table starts in the Mid Tier ($200 to $500), which holds 2 robots. The Premium tier ($500 to $1,000) is the largest group, with 8. The Pro tier (over $1,000) holds 4.
Among the picks below, the Mid Tier robot cleans the floor, walls, waterline and steps, but it has only a single coarse filter. Most of the Premium picks add a fine filter, a longer run per charge or a larger rated area. Both robots in the table that also clean the water surface sit in the Pro tier. Across the table, runtime per charge ranges from 1.5 to 5 hours, and rated pool area ranges from 850 to 3,875 square feet.
Surface Cleaning And Steps In A Large Pool
Aiper Scuba X1 Pro Max cleans the floor, walls, waterline and steps, and it is one of two robots in the table that also clean the water surface. Aiper rates it for pools up to 3,230 square feet or 100 feet long, and it quotes up to 5 hours of floor cleaning per charge. A 3-micron fine filter backs up the main filter, and Aiper lists its brushes as active. It suits a large inground pool where leaves float on the water as well as sink.
Aiper Scuba X1 Pro Max sits in the Pro tier, so it makes the most sense if you would use the surface cleaning. Aiper gives its runtime figure for floor cleaning, so check the manual for the other modes. A full recharge takes 4 hours, and Aiper gives it a 3-year warranty.
The Largest Rated Area
Aiper Scuba V3 Ultra has the largest rated area in the table, 3,875 square feet, for a pool up to 66 feet long. It cleans the water surface as well as the floor, walls and waterline, and Aiper says two cameras guide its route. The 3-micron fine filter and the active brushes suit a pool that collects fine dust as well as leaves. Aiper rates it for up to 3 hours per charge.
You may want a different robot if your steps collect debris, because Aiper does not list steps for Aiper Scuba V3 Ultra. At 28.8 pounds it is heavy to lift out of the pool, and the battery takes 4.5 hours to recharge.

A Large Pool With Steps
Wybot S2 is rated for pools up to 3,229 square feet, and Wybot’s manual says it can climb steps. It runs for up to 3.5 hours per charge. The app offers seven cleaning modes and a cycle timer, and the robot parks itself by the wall when it finishes. It suits a large inground pool with steps where leaves and sand are the main debris.
The limit of Wybot S2 is the filter. It has a single 180-micron basket and no fine filter, so it is not the right choice for a pool where fine dust settles on the floor. Wybot does not list its brushes as active.
A Camera For Floor Debris
Wybot C2 Vision is rated in its manual for inground pools up to 1,938 square feet, and Wybot lists steps among the areas it covers. Wybot says its camera mode responds to debris on the floor. A 10-micron fine filter sits alongside the 180-micron basket, and it runs for up to 3 hours per charge.
Pebble finishes are not on Wybot’s list of surfaces for Wybot C2 Vision, so check your pool’s finish before you buy. The brushes are not listed as active. If the camera does not appeal to you, Wybot C2 covers a similar job.
A Fine Net For Dusty Days
Wybot C2 pairs a 10-micron net with its 180-micron basket. It cleans the floor, walls, waterline and steps of pools up to 1,615 square feet and runs for up to 3 hours per charge. It suits a pool that mostly collects leaves and sand but also sees fine dust from time to time.
The net is a second layer beside the basket, and Wybot’s care notes ask you to wash both after every use. Pebble finishes are not on Wybot’s list for Wybot C2 either, and the brush is not listed as powered.
Steps And Leaves In The Mid Tier
Wybot C1 is the only pick in the Mid Tier. It cleans the floor, walls, waterline and steps of pools up to 1,615 square feet and runs for up to 2.5 hours per charge. Its single 180-micron filter is meant for leaves and sand, and Wybot gives it a 2-year warranty.
The trade is fine debris, because with no second filter, fine dust can pass through. Wybot C2 adds a fine net and half an hour more per charge on the same body.
Long Runs In A Mid-Size Pool
Aiper Scuba S1 cleans the floor, walls, waterline and steps of pools up to 1,600 square feet or 50 feet long. Aiper rates the current edition for up to 4.5 hours per charge, with 4 hours to recharge. A 3-micron fine filter backs up the main basket, Aiper lists its brushes as active, and the app holds a weekly cleaning plan.
Aiper does not list surface cleaning for Aiper Scuba S1, and a pool longer than 50 feet is past its rating. Pebble finishes are not on its list of surfaces.
Mapping And Active Brushes For Longer Pools
Aiper Scuba S1 Pro is rated for pools up to 2,150 square feet or 66 feet long. It scrubs with active brushes, maps its route and pairs a 3-micron fine filter with the main filter. It runs for up to 3 hours per charge, so it suits a pool that is a little too long for the mid-size picks.
You may want a different robot if your steps need cleaning, because Aiper does not list steps for Aiper Scuba S1 Pro. It also sits in the Pro tier, a tier above most of the other picks.
Strong Suction For A Longer Pool In Premium
Aiper Scuba X1 is rated for pools up to 2,150 square feet or 66 feet long, according to the Amazon listing. Its suction is rated at 6,600 gallons per hour. It maps its route, scrubs with active brushes and pairs its main basket with a fine filter of about 3 microns. A button on the robot selects the cleaning mode. It suits a longer pool for a buyer who wants to stay in the Premium tier.
Steps are not on the list for Aiper Scuba X1, and at 24.3 pounds it is one of the heavier picks to lift out.
Waterline Scrubbing And Easy Retrieval
Aiper Scuba S3 cleans the floor, walls and waterline of pools up to 1,600 square feet or 50 feet long. It maps its route and has a 3-micron fine filter for dust. Aiper describes horizontal waterline scrubbing and an app alert when the robot returns to the waterline, which could make it easier to collect. It runs for up to 3 hours per charge.
Aiper does not list steps for Aiper Scuba S3, and a pool longer than 50 feet is past its rating.
Pools With Steps
Pool steps often need brushing by hand, but if leaves and grit regularly collect there, a robot that climbs steps could save you the job. Makers say 7 of the 14 robots in the table clean steps. Among the picks, Aiper Scuba X1 Pro Max, Wybot S2, Aiper Scuba S1, Wybot C2 Vision, Wybot C2 and Wybot C1 list them. The other picks leave steps to you.
Larger Pools
Aiper Scuba V3 Ultra, Aiper Scuba X1 Pro Max and Wybot S2 hold the largest area ratings among the picks. If your pool is long rather than wide, check the length rating too. Aiper Scuba S1 Pro and Aiper Scuba X1 are rated for pools up to 66 feet long. A free-form pool with alcoves could need more coverage than its surface area suggests, so choose a rating with some room to spare.
Fine Debris And Filters
Every pick has a 180-micron main filter, which catches leaves and sand. Wybot S2 and Wybot C1 rely on that basket alone. Wybot C2 and Wybot C2 Vision add a 10-micron net. Aiper Scuba S1, Aiper Scuba S3 and the other Aiper picks pair the basket with a fine filter rated at about 3 microns, which Aiper lists for microscopic debris. Fine mesh tends to clog sooner than coarse mesh, so rinsing it after each run is a good habit.
The table below lists every pool cleaner rated for inground pools, with skimmers left out, and has filters for tier, power, what each one cleans and navigation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Black Friday a good time to buy a pool robot?
It can be, if the robot suits your pool. Brand stores often offer robots for less around Black Friday and Cyber Monday. A robot for a pool that is closed for the winter may wait months for its first run, though, so read the return window and the warranty terms first.
How can I tell whether a deal is real?
Compare it with the store’s regular amount. The “was” figure on a banner is not always what the store usually charges, so note the amount on the brand’s own store in the weeks before the sale.
Why is one of these robots missing from the deals block?
Its brand’s store is probably not offering it for less that day. The block shows a robot only when its brand’s own store sells it below its regular amount. It checks once a day and covers only the stores it follows.
Do I need a robot that cleans steps?
Only if your steps collect debris. Makers say 7 of the 14 robots in the table clean steps, and with the others you brush the steps by hand.
Does a larger rated area make a robot better?
Not on its own. Rated pool area across the table ranges from 850 to 3,875 square feet. A rating that covers your pool with some room to spare is enough, and the filters and cleaning zones could matter more.
